We are pleased to announced George Williams has volunteered to be our new Librarian. Welcome aboard George. The photo below shows George on duty at the Library on Train Spotting Day, November 28th.

On November 28 at least twenty folks showed up for the annual train spotting day at the library. Amtrak trains zoomed by every few minutes giving photographers and children of all ages a great show. The City of Bowie has announced new hours for the Bowie Railroad Museum. The library is generally open whenever the Bowie Railroad Museum is open. The new hours are from  from 12 PM to 4 PM, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Check the museum web site or call 301-832-7126 to confirm the hours.

After months of collaboration by our volunteers, we are pleased to launch this new web site. After a year long shutdown due to COVID-19, our Library has reopened in accordance with City of Bowie policy.  Museum hours are 12 to 1:30 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We are currently seeking an individual to help manage our collection on a volunteer basis. You do not have to be a professional librarian just a lover of books, and perhaps railroads.
